- Botanical name: Kunzea ericoides
- It can be found in forests in the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
- It grows to a height of 15 metres.
- Manuka bark was boiled then given by mouth to treat diarrhoea.
- Manuka seeds were boiled and the fluid was used as an anti-inflammatory cream.
- Bark was also used for pain relief and to help promote healing of fractures.
- The leaves were boiled in water and the vapour inhaled to treat head colds.
